A Lamp Unto My Feat

Lately I’ve been thinking that the three-year-old lamp in my DLP projector might be nearing the end of its life. I have been running it a lot lately. It finally died this morning; not completely extinguished but not sufficiently bright to satisfy the electronics in the television. I’ve propped the old lamp up with my wallet in the photo above to allow for better exposure and to make a somewhat veiled reference to the cost of its replacement.
I’ve attached the emergency backup monitor to my PVR. It’s smaller and harder to see from across the room. It’s on the left. Look closely.

Of COURSE I have redundant systems. I’m a Scalability Engineer.
Unfortunately my solution in this case did result in some downtime and the redundant system lacks the full capacity of the main one. If only I had access to almost unlimited venture capital…
