Beowulf (2007): The movie thingy

I was all ready to skip this movie because I couldn’t make heads or tails of the Beowulf poem when I read it in high school. However, right now I’m a little bored and it is difficult for me to do much more than to lay still and watch TV so I thought, “why not?” I’m glad I took the time to see it.
The movie is done all in computer generated animation and motion capture, so sometimes I thought I was watching a cartoon and other times I completely forgot I wasn’t looking at live action. In a few more years I suspect the technology will separate an actor’s physical appearance from his or her ability to, well, act.
If you like that sort of thing or if you’re a big fan of present-day interpretations of really old poetry, check it out. =D Also staring: a digitally enhanced Angelina Jolie… as if she needs “enhancement.”
