Sam Clam's Disco!

There be whales here!Today's journey began in the sleepy, but eternally startled !EUREKA!  It ended as I glided across the Golden Gate Bridge and into San Francisco.  I got to see some Evergreens that have been Evergreens for, well, for ever.  These are BIG trees.   I mean, no self-respecting dog would have the nerve to pee on one of these. These trees' bark does not bite.  Their roots go way back.  Goin' out on a limb for these.  Better leaf while I can.  You can pine for cones but you can't con a fir.  Somebody stop me...

I had the opportunity to "drive through a tree" along the way, but I declined. It was one of those "world's largest ball of twine" kind of road side attractions.  As it turned out, the scenery became so distracting that I was in continual danger of driving into (possibly not back out of) any number of trees.  I also didn't stop at the Forest of Confusion or the "Rilpley's Believe it or Not" Tree House.  Boy, I think I'm missing out on an opportunity here given the number of cars I saw parked for these attractions. I could set the dogs loose in the back yard, charge admission, and call it "Freaks of Nature."

FloatAnd speaking of freaks, I was treated to a "personalized parade" near Ghirardelli Square. A float in the shape of my head was paraded down the street for all to see. (Pictured at the left.)  I was certainly surprised.  Normally the guest gets to take his float home, however, mine was so full of hot air they weren't able to deflate it.

Havin' a good time in Ess Eff.  The natives here like to call it "Frisco" and "San Fran."  Really.  And they think it's clever when people who don't live here come up with shortened names for their City.   The Franinator. Frisco-rama. Da Bayster.  Try it out with a native some time.   No, I won't pay your medical bills.

As I understand it there is a professional baseball team based here. The Chubbies or something like that. (Right, Barb?)
